1. Check what your exchange supports
Open the withdrawal screen for USDC or USDT. Note the networks offered and the fee for each. Not every Indian exchange supports every network.
2. Get the right address
- For Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum or Polygon, use your MetaMask address (0x…).
- For Solana, use your Phantom Solana address.
The same 0x address works on all EVM networks, but your wallet must have that network added to show the balance.
3. Send a test
Withdraw a small amount. Wait for it to arrive, then check it on a block explorer. How to use a block explorer.
4. Send the rest
Once the test arrives, withdraw the rest. Some exchanges may ask you to whitelist the address first, or hold the withdrawal for a short time.
Gas fees
On Ethereum-based networks you need a little of the network's native token (ETH on Base and Arbitrum) to move tokens later. Withdraw a small amount of ETH on the same network too.
Tax
Moving your own crypto between your own accounts isn't a sale. Keep records showing both accounts are yours. Swapping or selling later is taxable. USDT in India.
