How to check and revoke token approvals on your wallet

Old token approvals let apps spend your tokens. How to check them with Revoke.cash or an explorer, revoke risky ones and avoid unlimited approvals.

Why approvals matter

When you swap or deposit on an EVM network, you often approve the app's contract to spend a token. Many apps ask for unlimited approval. If the contract is later exploited, or was malicious from the start, it can take those tokens.

How to check

  • Revoke.cash: connect your wallet and pick the network to see every approval.
  • Explorer tools: Etherscan, Basescan and others have a "Token approval checker".

What to revoke

  • Apps you don't recognise.
  • Apps you no longer use.
  • Unlimited approvals on large balances.

On Solana

Solana works differently, but malicious signatures can still drain wallets. Phantom and other wallets show permissions for connected apps. Disconnect ones you don't use.

If you've already been drained

Move what's left to a new wallet and revoke approvals on the old one. What to do next.
